چکیده

The aim of this study was to develop and characterize chitosan microspheres Carvedilol (CRV) for nasal delivery improve bioavailability treatment hypertension angina pectoris. comes under BCS class II, is poorly water soluble drug highly permeable. Solubility determined by shaking flask method lipophilicity separating funnel method. route very convenient achieving high reduce hepatic first pass metabolism. Chitosan obtained from chitin fish, biodegradable nontoxic that suitable administration. were prepared cross- linking using glutaraldehyde as cross agent preparation evaluated size, entrapment efficiency (EE), in vitro mucoadhesion, release. mucoadhesive property also wash off test. spherical with size 15-40 micron, which favorable intranasal absorption. EE observed 40% 88% while percentage mucoadhesion 74%to 88%. A strong interaction between mucin detected explaining absorption electrostatic interaction. released around 80% 6h. It concluded could be used deliver CRV following administration improving the bioavailability.

Formulation and Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Microspheres for Intra -nasal Delivery

Intranasal administration is an ideal alternative to the parenteral route for systemic drug delivery. Various conventional dosage forms have been employed for this purpose but they lack to provide the desired bioavailability of the drug due to poor residence time and faster clearance in the nasal cavity. Formulating multiparticulate system with mucoadhesive polymers may provide a significant in...

Preparation and In vitro Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Chitosan Microspheres of Amlodipine Besylate for Nasal Administration

Mucoadhesive chitosan microspheres of amlodipine besylate were prepared for nasal administration with the aim of avoiding the first pass effect. A series of batches of microspheres were prepared by simple emulsification crosslinking method to optimize parameters like external phase (mixture of heavy and light liquid paraffin in the ratio of 1:1), stirring rate (1200 rpm), dioctyl sodium sulfosu...

Formulation and In Vitro Evaluation of Acyclovir Mucoadhesive Microspheres for Intravaginal Application

The purpose of the research was to formulate microspheres of acyclovir (ACV) using mucoadhesive polymers, sodium alginate and chitosan. Calcium chloride was used as the ionotropic gelling agent. Sodium alginate was crosslinked by calcium chloride leading to a slower release of the drug. Chitosan which is a cationic polymer interacted with sodium alginate, an anionic polymer, to form an interpol...

Formulation and evaluation of Bacillus coagulans-loaded hypromellose mucoadhesive microspheres

Development of a novel delivery system has been attempted to deliver viable probiotic cells into the gut for a prolonged period of time while maintaining high numbers of viable cells within the formulation throughout the shelf-life of the product and during the gastrointestinal transit. Core mucoadhesive microspheres of Bacillus coagulans were developed employing several grades of hypromellose,...
